Death's Head continues his misadventures and attempts (and succeeds, in a couple of memorable cases) to kill various Cybertonians. Transformers have proved tricky costumers so far, but are apparently willing to offer big bucks, even if last time didn't go according to plan.
And, let's face it, neither does this.
From Transformers UK #133-134 and #146
Art by Dan Reed and Geoff Senior. Script by Simon Furman.

The year 2007. With Galvatron stuck in the past, Autobot leader Rodimus Prime is forced to turn his attention to the ongoing war between the Autobots and Decepticons.
In the Decepticon camp, all is not kittens and roses. Shockwave, in an attempt to break the stalemate, has employed the bo… freelance peacekeeping agent Death's Head to assassinate Prime. This has met resistance from Galvatron's former lieutenants, Cyclonus and Scourge, who you may remember had their asses handed to them by the mechanoid previously.
They vow to get Rodimus themselves, which leaves Shockwave in a happy mood. However things shake out between the pair and Death's Head, he either saves cash or sees some troublesome rivals removed from the board. He's a winner either way.
Rodimus, meanwhile, is more on edge.

Cyclonus tugging on Scourge's beard never fails to amuse me.
Cyclonus and Scourge pursue Rodimus Prime through the drainage tunnels, but the Autobot leader manages to evade them. Death's Head wakes up and he isn't happy, yes?

Exit Cyclonus and Scourge, pursued by bear. Which just leaves Rodimus and Death's Head to face off. Whereupon the Autobot leader has the good sense to beat a hasty retreat and follow the secret tunnel through the m…. the secret tunnel back to Autobase and lead Death's Head into an ambush. Where Rodimus has a business proposition.

Some issues later, Death's Head starts the New Year of 2008 with a bang when he tracks down Cyclonus and Scourge over the skies of the planet Junk from Transformers: The Movie and blows them out of the sky.

DH is interrupted finally disposing of Cy and Sco by a Junkion resident of the planet who begs for help. Ever the business minded individual, Death's Head is happy to consider another contract is the pay is right. He can multitask, right?
Well, it transpires the planet has been taken over by a powerful visitor, who has enslaved the Junkions. Recognising the advice that C&S could be more useful as a distraction left alive, Death's Head is happy to help. (Because it sounds like a big job and that means a big pay check. And he can always betray them and kill them later, right?)
However, his plan to use the Decpticons too draw attention so he can move in on his new target goes slightly awry.

Yep, the planet eater Unicron, as announced in TITLE TEXT.
Let's leave it on a cliffhanger, with Unicron's head, the only part of his body to survive his destruction at the hands of Rodimus Prime wielding the Creation Matrix, at rest on the planet Junk. Where, it seems, the Junkions have been busy little bees.
Next time, Death's Head and the readers discover the origins of the Transformers race for the first time!*
And there is a Shock(wave)ing death!
*Except for in the cartoon, because that version was way less interesting.
And, let's face it, neither does this.

Date: 2024-09-03 05:39 pm (UTC)Because Cybertron's been at war for over four million years and has no sign of civilisation.
Would've thought that might impact the value a little, no?
Scourge - the Huntsman.
Can't notice a guy only a few feet away from him running off.
How loud do you have to be arguing to not notice someone doing that in a sewer?
Or is it a Smell-o-Scope thing where the sewers are so disgusting it's blocking out all his senses?
"I turn my nose on down here, it'll explode. Actually explode!"
