Of course, Samson had ulterior motives for helping out and turns the machine on himself.

Samson goes about trying to steal Banner’s woman.

Will Samson try to stop the Hulk by using his words. Haha, no!

The funniest thing about the Doc's " Samson " motif is that he eventually did get a Delilah - a one-off Marvel Team-Up character just waiting to be re-used by someone sufficiently continuity-trivia minded.
