This issue and the previous one (Doom Patrol & Legion of Superheroes) make up two halves of a larger story.
( Four pages from #35 and half a page from #34... )
A different side to the King

GALAXY GREEN was one of the (many) story concepts Jack "The King" Kirby came up with in life that never actually got published. You can't often say this about a man with as diverse a body of work as Kirby's, but this was really quite unlike anything else he ever worked on.

( Three panels from Irredeemable Iron Man #28 )
And that wasn't even the best bit of the issue. If you want to find out what it was, go to your comics shop and ask for Iron Man #28. They'll know what to do.

I was reading Ultimates #1 the other day, and noticed that Lois, Clark and Jimmy make a cameo:

Two pages from R.E.B.E.L.S. 18, a book I'm thoroughly enjoying, about the budding relationship between Captain Comet and Starfire -- I have to say, I think it's a much better fit than Starfire and Animal Man, and handled much better, of course!

The party scene from JLI #25

A lot happened in this issue; Max confronts the computer that helped him create the Justice League as part of its plan to take over the world, nearly gets himself killed in the process, and finds hints that he might have some kind of metahuman power. But the main thrust of the story is the big reunion/party/recruitment bash Oberon throws to get more candidates for the JLE. Old heroes come face-to-face with the new guard, with sometimes less-than-pleasant results; and of course, there's a few unexpected guests. So sit back, relax, and enjoy some classic DC, hopelessly irreverent but still steeped in history and characterization.
