The Immortal Hulk #22 - "Who's There"

I guide the story along certain pathways, but the Hulk is a creature of chaos, and between now and that last issue, whenever it might come, there will be massive, seismic changes to any grand plan I have now. That's why I'm so down on any ultra-definitive statements about where we're going - I don't fully know myself. We're heading into the heart of the storm, the map is lost... and the Hulk is at the wheel. -- Al Ewing

Test #1'd been the protagonist entering that town.
They, Aleph Null, were out of the clutches of repo men and in those of locals.
The latter took them out the back door, to a house, and through a hole in the wall.
( The hole led to an ambulatory pocket dimension. )

This was before EA Spouse (yes, google that) and semi-regular exposes of industry practices, followed by public industry decrying of such counter-productive methods before slinking back to something like business as usual. I simplify but less than you’d hope. There’s some companies so tone-deaf as to boast about how inefficient and brutal their processes are. The sad thing is that players (generally) don’t care. Or don’t care enough to actually not buy, which is kind of worse than not caring at all. […] DIE is partially about what people are willing to do to other people to get the fantasy they crave. That doesn’t just happen in the fantasy worlds. -- Kieron Gillen
