I kind of feel sorry for Charles. I don’t mean what he’s done in the story. I feel sorry for Charles as a character in the Marvel universe. It’s always better to be a villain if you’re an X-Man because then you get to be redeemed. If you’re actually a paragon, all you get to do is fall. You know? And I think Charles, his ethics have been slowly eroded because it’s the most interesting story. Because he’s not the lead character, because he can get to be. And that gets to the position where he’s, you know, this very gray, manipulative figure now. And I feel kind of sorry for that. -- Kieron Gillen
