As someone else noted, DC: The New Frontier is full of perfect moments. The Silver Age Flash gets a couple of them. Now, normally the one that comes to mind is his initial appearance where he goes up against Captain Cold, but while that's pretty awesome too, here's another one that, frankly, I like better.

From DC: The New Frontier #5. The big bad has revealed itself, a sentient alien mass masquerading as an island called the Centre. It's heading inland, bringing monstrous death and destruction with it and finally all the heroes are united in an effort to stop its murderous rampage. Except for the Flash, who has gone into hiding because of government efforts to capture him. But you can't keep Barry Allen out of the fight...

Go get 'em, tiger.
But even with the heroes united, the sheer size of the Centre and its invulnerability presents a problem. So in DC: The New Frontier #6

I love the fact that they turned the flaw in Ray Palmer's old size-shrinking experiments into an asset. But the question is, how do you expose something the size of the Center to the ray all at once? Turns out it's a question of speed. So there's only one man for the job.

That alone would be Flash's badass declaration, but his moment is still to come.

I read somewhere once that kids liked the Flash because it was a super-power they could relate to - just running really, really fast. Cooke shows us just how awesome that simple ability alone really is. Neil Patrick Harris did a great job voicing Barry in the movie.
