Bought this issue today, so I thought I should post them to show why you need buy this book, no matter who is writing it.

Lets see two hot head metallic military men duke it out about the military forces.

Wow. The Army just got royal dissed... by a guy who wears ram horns. An now, for some Powergirl.

Wait, if Blue Moon is SO powerful, then how come I haven't heard of her since now... or became Lane's Anti-Kyrpt plan. Muh, I like obscure characters. Now back to Magog, with some synergy that makes team-books fun.

Following that, we see... I can't say it, it a bad pun and Wildcat beat me to it,

I like the Dog Pund (that's their name) because they are laughably pathetic. They're like Drago Wolf from Sonic the Hedgehog times 3. I want to know more about these suckers. Anyone got scans of them? Does Anubis have any powers... aside from being a dog-man... who can fly? And Junkyard appeared in Robin, also written by Bill Willingham I believe.

Whose the guy in the top hat?

Honestly the only one of these guys I recognize is Major Force.

So, Karen's got a mil.5 on her head. Does everyone else or just her?

She's a relatively recent character I think, DC wikia says '06 was her first appearance, in Robin. And I'm guessing highly power-variable abilities? That might be a reason to not be as active and not to base plans on her, she's only that strong once in a blue moon.

In this story line, everybody but Stargirl has a bounty on them. Some bounties are larger than others.

I'm curious how much they're each worth...

Ah, and I take it the lack of bounty on Stargirl is why they aren't attacking her?

no, they're specifically told not to touch Stargirl.

Blue Moon is a Willingham creation who first showed up IIRC in ShadowPact, she's only powerful at night, and her powers are dependent on the phase of the moon. Full moon = incredible strength levels, New moon = Hardly any different from human.

And on a Blue Moon she's somewhat Kryptonian level tough apparently.

If the crooks didn't kill her, the jet lag would.

Anubis and Devil Dog first appeared in the Sturges era Blue Beetle, fighting for the right to use the name Hellhound, another dog-themed villain who had died in Salvation Run. They're pet characters of Sturges.

I recognised them. I was wondering where they picked up the third guy.

Admittedly I also want Blue Moon to be a more famous villain she looks practically like an evil Powergirl and I've wanted to see more lunar connected heroes and her name's cool, as is her costume.

Does Anubis have any powers... aside from being a dog-man... who can fly?

Does Wildcat have any powers other than being an ex-boxer in a cat costume who can't fly? He's lucky he gets the easy ones and not the ones that can hold their own with Power Girl.

I think Batman can do anything because the others go easy on him. His emergency plans to defeat everyone in the Justice League if they go rogue remind me of a bit from Buffy:

Wesley: I've even faced a vampire. Under controlled circumstances, of course.
Giles: You won't find many of those here.
W: Vampires?
G: Controlled circumstances.

All that has to happen is two of them take him by surprise, say Superman holds him while Flash punches him in the face 100 times in a second, and he's bat-toast.

"Wow. The Army just got royal dissed... by a guy who wears ram horns."

That's an old one though. The services tend to give each other a lot of crap.

Though it does have me wonder if John Stewart and Magog have ever encountered each other. They are both Marines, though they have very different temperments. Magog never misses an oportunity to remind everyone that he's a Marine, maybe its just the scans posted here but he seems to never shut up about it.

John on the other hand (while granted it was retconned in from JLU just before Sinestro Corps War... so roughly the same real world amount of time Magog has been around) rarely if ever brings it up, rather its its been used as a way to explain his personality, and the chip on his shoulder he had when he was first introduced what 40 years ago. Also an explaination for how he put himself through college.

I guess I'd just like to see John tell Magog to shut his damn mouth.
