Poison Ivy - Botanist... eco-terrotist... cougar?

I don't have too many examples of BTAS Robin art in my collection, not because I don't like it, anything but, but because I have a heard time finding pages. So I'm delighted to have acquired this one!



Terry Burchett both drew and inked this terrific page from Batman and Robin Adventures #8, a comic set in the world of "Batman: The Animated Series", and here showcasing Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, who have caught our plucky acrobat turned superhero trying to stop them raiding the zoo to liberate Harley's "Babies", Mr J's pet hyena's Bud and Lou... Perhaps her should have waited for backup!.



I love Dick's expression after the kiss, somewhere between "Stupefied" and "Twitterpated", and the Harley/Ivy banter is top-notch (as one would expect from a Paul Dini and Ty Templeton script).

It's a great little story as Robin proves that all those crime fighting skills he learned from Batman can also be used for COMMITTING crimes when under Ivy's influence, and Harley's jealousy of Robin being Ivy's new favourite is adorable. I'm not sure if it's been posted here, but I'll think about that if no one else has.



Oh, and before anyone worries, there's no indication that Ivy used Robin for anything other than plotting crimes and the occasional sensual massage, so he may be under the effects of a sort of super-roofie, but she doesn't take sleazy advantage of him.

And fond as Ivy seems to be of Batman, she's certainly had her thorns into his Batboys a time or two, be it Dick



Or sometimes Tim!



Though that one didn't end too well!

And then, if I recall that story correctly, Ivy has Dick stripped down to just his manties and basically acting has her cabana boy for a while.

Harley gets totally jealous.

Oh she's only a little jealous here because Ivy is paying attention to Robin and wants to keep him, instead of letting Bud and Lou chow down, but wait until Harley realises that a suitably mind controlled Robin is a vastly better criminal than she has ever been; spotting flaws in all her plans, coming up with better ideas.. and all in front of an approving Ivy. THEN you'll know what jealousy is.

Didn't Ivy flirt with a few times in show? (Dick Robin.) I kow she exchanged glances with him when Harley kissed Batman.

Not that I recall, Robin would have been too young for her (Though she happily kidnapped Dick Grayson for ransom)

And I think that was more a glance of two long suffering partners exchanging a mutual moment of "Whatcha gonna do?" or "WTF?", than making goo-goo eyes.

Oh yes, but Ivy is a good bit older than that. She had dated Harvey Dent (shortly before he became Two-Face) who is Bruce Wayne's age, and it was seen as a good match rather than cradle-snatching.

And woot! I read that DCAU story and it was fab. Loved it for the sole reason that Robin was her man-salve and Harley cured him out of sheer jealousy!

I don't know if it's been posted on here, but it was posted more than once on the other board.
And I dunno, Ivy's not being THAT much of a cougar here. I mean, she's what, in her early-to-mid thirties? And DCAU Dick's midway through college - it's not THAT much of an unbridgeable age gap.
