Here's my contribution to today's romance theme.

Taken from the I ♥ Marvel - My Mutant Heart one-shot.

Wherein hardboiled private detective Chandler breaks his number one rule and falls hard for the person he's meant to be tailing.

Chandler's hired by socialite Gilray to trail his wife Brigit, who he's convinced is having an affair. They're both young, successful and rich and Chandler wonders who could tempt Brigit away from her seemingly happy life.

He soon finds out.

Heh. I have this comic. A lot of the stories in the I Heart Marvel series were so freaking weird, but they were all pretty fun.

Doop was the Squirrel Girl of his day, only times fifty. It's kinda weird when it's a character whose power is controlling squirrels; it's REALLY weird when it's a floating green warty blob with no particular powers to speak of.

Ah. 'Dune', right? The difference there is that that particular blob DOES have powers - very useful ones.

Uh, Doop had powers, they were just never very well-defined. I mean, hell, his brain was such a powerful energy source that it became a Macguffin by the end.

Oh - OK. I was under the impression that he basically just floated there and didn't do much except be the mascot and be allegedly awesome. My bad.

idk about awesome though, he was really kinda creepy most of the time

Well, what I mean is, everybody talked a lot about how awesome he allegedly was, and Wolverine was an old pal of his, and so on. (This is what I gathered, anyway; I've only read snippets of the actual series.)
