To be fair as someone who works in a highschool I know that some of the boys do treat girls like this.

Not that excuses Robin's tone, which seems to be edging towards "Dance for us, freak!".

Poor Megan, from the look of the other clips they're carrying the plot on directly from the previous two-parter/movie (trying to get Roy back into the group) so I hope that they get another girl to deflect the guy's advances elsewhere.

Also, it reminds me of who they X-Men treated Jean Grey back in their debut comics back in the 60s. (Reviewed by Linkara for those who are interested).

I dunno, Dick quite reasonably asked for a demonstration of shapeshifting, I know if I had a friend I discovered could shapeshift I'd ask for a demonstration out of sheer curiosity. He's seen people fly and perform other feats, but shapeshifting is probably a new one, plus it'd be handy to learn how quick she can change and any obvious limitations, for tactical purposes.

He didn't TELL her to change, he asked her to and she said said yes (she could have said no) what's performing seal-ish about that?

I think it's the clapping. I'm not sure the writers meant it to come off the way, but it was perilously close to a slow sarcasticlap.

The fact that she seems pretty uncomfortable at the suggestion kinda bothers me, so that's part of where it comes from for me. Dunno about anyone else's take.

And there are lots more ways to pressure someone than a direct order, as I'm sure you're aware.

There's something about Power Girl's face at the top of the second scan that's cracking me up.

Not really getting a 'performing seal' vibe? More of a 'we should probably show the audience her powers' thing, I guess. He's presumably never seen her exercise them, I'd think it's reasonable he wants to know what his teammate can do.

And I admit that most of my awareness of Wally comes from JL/JLU, but I thought that was a given for the character? Is it unexpected? Genuinely asking here, I'm not really familiar with him in the comics.

And on second viewing... I'm getting more of a 'teenager who hasn't got much experience in the way of flirting with a crush yet, so they're not great on being appropriate all the time' vibe from Wally more than, IDK, a 'girls are just there to flirt with' thing.

I'd normally presume that the writer wrote Steph!Batgirl and the artist decided to draw Cass!Batgirl, but in this case the artist and writer's the same person...

Also, Robin didn't really come off as insulting to me. He kinda reminds me of a friend telling another friend to show off their talents because the other friend was shy and had a hard time doing things without prompting.

He just wanted to see how her powers work and she obliged and she had a look of a little reluctance because she knows she can't shapeshift perfectly like her *cough* Uncle J'onn.

The clip suffers a bit for being out of context. It comes in the middle of a "show off all of my powers" sequence, and is designed to let viewers know about her shapeshifting abilities.

Cass's dialouge there just sounds so wrong. Like it was written for Steph and at the last minute she was switched out due to (fully justified) fan outcry for Cass or something.

I was, in fact, translating it as Steph in my head and it worked quite well.

I like M'gann's design in that clip. I mean, basically, of course, it's just her design from the comic, but there are some subtle differences that work very well. The lips, for instance - they're downturned, rather than upturned, the way the comic version's (I believe) are. This works both because it makes her look more vulnerable, which fits the character, but also because the expression is subtly exaggerated in a slightly non-human manner. She kind of reminded me of Starfish from the Nocturnals.
