Green Lantern #64

Having gone to my LCS today to pick up a few books I decided to give a flip through of the newest Green Lantern issue. I was very happy to see my favorite bibliophile return.

Some interesting story bits happened this issue but really, I picked it up for her so here's some of her.

 

The Light Brigade come upon the Book of the Black and question what it is. But of course it opens up and smarter folks would've run.



(They're non consecutive pages though so don't focus too much on the narration boxes which continue from other pages)

 

Aww, Lyssa's making a collection! Whoo! And yes I like the little top of the hat from Sinestro there. She doesn't HAVE a weakness! I'm sure Sinestro's probably feeling less than enthused with his old recruitment methods at this point.

I'm glad to see her playing a pretty big part of the story. I was wondering when she'd show up again after she "returned" in Untold Tales of Blackest Night.

I do like that she's dispensing with all pretence and just going by 'Story Vampire' now. Very cute...and deadly.

Fair enough, but if I were a space champion standing before her, I'd just be all, "Really? 'Story Vampire'? Are we hitting the extra special crack pipe today?"

I stand corrected, though I confess even my very limited experience is hard pushed to think of any... variations which involve the guy laying the back of his head on the ladies rear-end that would actually put any of the interesting part on the other person within easy reach.

* The various Corps apparent insistence on thongs for female members to one side... though as we've yet to see a male Star Sapphire, I'm living in eternal-optimisim-land.

Hmmm, true, though that's the Predator, who is to a Star Sapphire as Ion is to a Green Lantern or Parallax to the Yellow Lantern, so has a slightly different dress code, but it's depressingly close enough.....

Yeah; it's not exactly to its favour that while all Star Sapphires appear to be girls, the powerful thingummy is a/is hosted in a dude. :|

I believe Hawkgirl's mother became a host to it during Brightest Day. The costume looked pretty much the same. The current host is also female...I think.

I was thinking the same thing. I'd love to see a series with stories from that book.

Final Crisis would be more amusing if Lyssa Drak had Mandrakk's role.

Oh what I'd give to see Lyssa and Queen of Fables get into a fight. (With Lyssa beating the ink out of Queen of course)

Cosplayers, a I demand an explanation for why I haven't seen anyone dress as Lyssa Drak.

I could try arguing it shows too much skin but I've seen some damn barely dressed cosplays (including a Poison Ivy).

Maybe it's a matter of engineering -- I wouldn't want to baste my tender parts with enough spirit gum to keep from falling out the bottom of the halter top.

Haha. I'm sure sure a blue body suit would work if nothing else.

I'm not worried. They have Saint Walker with them. All will be well.
