There are many reasons why I only showed the end to Alpha and Omega mostly because I did not to run up the page limit and also because the first 12 issues of Solar are important to the overall Story of the Valiant Universe. So the next part let's focus on the other important establishing book Magnus Robot Fighter! Magnus was nothing like I was expecting, if I have to compare it to something it's like the New Doctor Who, more contemporary but also a continuation of the Old Series, this tends to be a strong contrast to Solar which is a total revamp with a new lead. It also deconstructs it's older stories. Also it's opening story Steel Nation is one of Variant's Best works so let's read on!

Our Story begins in the year 4000 where magnus does what he does best, Robot Fighting!

You may be wondering why Magnus fight's these Robot's, there rogues, or Freewill's basically in the future robots are commonplace and many of them are developing intelligence, that's one side to the story but there's more to it then that.

1-A is a strange Character in a lot of ways but I will get to that later...
Magnus also has a girlfriend.

If You don't like Leeja she's about to get hit by the character development train, HARD. Also yes she is psychic, this becomes important.
In the first issue Magnus questions his duty, but at this point he's killed plenty of robots. He is now starting to believe that maybe he's the bad guy. In the first issue Leeja is injured as Magnus tries to save her, she's okay but this makes the free wills not trust Magnus. This becomes a problem.

After this scene Magnus goes home to find, well.

Leeja use her power's to get a glimpse into his mind and think Magnus is cheating on her.
Magnus has a lot of Subplots in the first 4 issues, and they are mostly handled well.
*Magnus realizes that his father figure is not right, grows to realize that just because a robot is free will doesn't mean he should put them down.
*Leeja learns that her father is a dick, and she needs to grow stronger.
*W-23 learns that the current main leader evil robot is well, evil and destroying human's solves nothing. She decides(Yes she) to change her appearance to be more feminine, also she love Magnus.
*The government is starting to come down on freewill robots and there fanaticism will eventually bring on their own downfall.
*It's establishes the Gophs basically the poor section of North Am and how much the rich of North Am take advantage of them
This all comes together in issue 4 the final of Steel Nation.
Magnus has to stop the rampage of the evil O1-X from destroying North AM.

He kill's O1-x during this who event leeja is thought dead in the attack but W-23 meet's up with her. While Magnus make's an important decision.

Magnus decides to Live with the Gohps, North Am is corrupt and Magnus won't stand for it. Steel Nation is hard to post because well there's so many important bit's to it. Magnus has lot's of great action scenes and has very strong plotting this was like trying to cut up Watchmen for posting(It's not that good but it's still a strong work) Magnus also is used to set up the Future of the Valiant Universe because with his book Valiant is split into zones one of the Present and one of the Future. This will become apparent when we get to Rai. Still if you ever get the chance actually read it, this is one thing I did not expect to like as much as I did and find it's needs to be reprinted badly. Next up a spotlight one Toyo Harada. One of the big bads of the Valiant Universe.
