Batman was saying Z wasn't stable. Did something happen to her lately? Or is this something that happened in the DCnU that we don't know about yet?

Well it seems to be a common narrative device in fiction these days that due to the illogical nature of magic those who are most adept at it are either seen as being slightly insane compared other peoples, or the reason why they're so good at magic is because their perception of reality is somewhat skewed.

Like in Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell.

So Batman could see Zee as being unstable, but she's really got the best mindset for the job. Like it'd be harder to be driven mad by the presence of eldritch creatures from beyond time and space if you're already partially accustomed to them.
