So far this doesn't look terrible. I don't know if it's enough to make me want to buy it, but not terrible.

I do have to question their killing off members like that. I mean, on one hand, with a concept where these expendable psychos going on the most dangerous missions called the SUICIDE Squad almost guarantees that there has to be some casualties, but I would think killing one within two issues with another promised for three means that you'll have to either create a lot of new characters, which may or may not work, or resurrect them, which dulls some of that danger.

The DCU has many, MANY one shot villains they can use and dispose of with barely a ripple.

Look at some of the original Suicide Squad casualties; Mindboggler, Shrike, Psi, Mr 104, the Thinker, the Weasel, the first Blockbuster.

None of them memorable and often no more than one or two appearance characters, but were given a chance to shine and often went out far more memorably than they went in.

Batman's one-shot rogues alone could keep them ticking over for YEARS.

So I know that Deadshot thinks Harley's an idiot, but I hope the righter remembers that Harley's manic (at the very, very least) and quite smart.

That line about the patsy's "energy signature [being] on every corpse" is very interesting. I hope they don't plan on framing a hero or something.

The patsy is the dead body behind Deadshot in that very panel.

Yeah, I don't mind Deadshot thinking she's an idiot so long as he's not right. Isn't Deadshot someone who makes snap judgements that he regrets later, or am I wrong there?

In any case, I hate his costume even more than Harley's (which I still hate).

OOPS! You're right, that's not Deadshot - of course neither is "deadshot."

Sorry, nU Deadshot's mask threw me off so much I thought that was him. In hindsight "deadshot" and "harley' don't look like the real deal so I guess we can pretend that there's someone else behind their masks (well face paint) and hope for the actual characters to kick their asses (with a rubber chicken - I'm bored with the big wood hammer)

Wow, you're right. It's really hard to tell who's who with those mask designs.

Still, the "I don't mind the comment so long as he's not right" part still applies, and the general dislike of the costumes.

Actually, Harley has a... What's it called... Lucid moment with Diablo... She says "i wavy always like this, I.used to be a psychiatrist..." It was actually a really sweet moment... It actually surprised me

The writer has said that he does want to address the fact that Harley is a LOT smarter than she appears, or lets others be aware of.

So not a good idea. In fact, that's the worst idea I've heard in ages. There's no possible configuration of anything remotely approaching "realism" that's going to have that baby alive by the end of next issue.

Okay, that's me off this title for the duration of Glass' tenure. I draw a firm line at infant death-and-torture-porn.

It's the same problem I had with Messiah Complex. If you treated an actual newborn the way Cable treated Hope, it would be a brain-dead cripple in seconds and dead in minutes.

Isn't Deadshot canonically a father? Or was; pre-reboot. Perhaps he does know about how to do it (even if the artists aren't good at showing it).

Babies are delicate but they aren't made of glass, and it's not like the basic knowledge of how to care for them is super-esoteric.

At what age. Babies slowly get less delicate, but newborns are the hardest to care for. Their heads and necks have to be supported constantly whenever their picked up.

Glass can't even get Waller's bio right -- five years before the Suicide Squad she wasn't even working for the federal government, let alone running Special Ops squads. I don't expect him to get the intricacies of newborn care anywhere near right.

Oh geeze, that movie. I remember it was on tv once and I was only half watching it when all of a sudden it's like, "Wait, did that woman just go from zero to pregnant in like five seconds and then the baby exploded out of her?" D:

If you look at the 3rd panel of the 2nd scan you'll see Deadshot call the patsy "voltaic," with a name like that I don't miss him.

Why couldn't they streamline Deadshot's real costume more effectively? He looks like Voldo.

Quinn, I'm indifferent on. He costume's bad but at least true to theme and her writing is okay.

Gosh. When Deadshot started talking to Waller on the phone, I pictured old Waller and was so sad when she was still hot/skinny. I hope Glass lives up to his hint that this is youngWaller and Waller will not be skinny forever.
