It does reference the Vertigo series Sandman Mystery Theatre at some point, which, though no essential, may require a little knowledge behind that book, though not much beyond,
- Wesley Dodds, aka the Sandman, was the first superhero in the DCU and one of it's greatest detectives. - He's been in a relationship with his parent, Dian Belmont, since the mid/late thirties, and she's awesome. She's a Nobel prize winning novelist as well as Wesley's crimefighting partner once she figured out his secret identity. - They're both awesome and their relationship is really sweet. - One of Wesley's longest running villains is a master of disguise known as the Face. He's an assassin and most definately NOT a nice person.
Founded by girl geeks and members of the slash fandom, scans_daily strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBTQ-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harassment free.
Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
