Is it me, or is the perspective on Darkseid a little off? Like how his head looks tiny and his arms vary wildly in length/

I'm more concerned by the notion that they seem to have turned Darkseid into lumbering silent brick who says nothing. If I'm right, Jack Kirby is spinning fast enough to power the entire world, at this point.

So is Hal Jordan the DCnU!Roy Harper of the Justice League? Or has he always been this much of an egotistical dumbass who gets his ass handed to him a lot? I'm only asking cause I'm not too familiar with Hal's character.

Maybe Johns wants to create some proof against allegations of favoratism.

Hal being a screw-up is something that, when you look at his history, has always seemed to have been the case, but people writing him have never acknowledged or tried to wash away.

Silver age Hal Jordan was kind of an idiot. I think that's what Johns is getting at here. He's probably aiming for him to be comic relief of the group.

I can't wait for the updated take on classic Hal moments like these.

There is something menacing about the lord of Apokolips coming in person and just steamrolling everyone without a care while advancing toward his objective.. yet with what we know of him so far and how long this's slated to go, I wouldn't be shocked if it turned out he'd just popped in to buy a new couch of the Earth variety.

Infinite Crisis almost made me have to go to AA, therefore.

He keeps teasing it in AQUAMAN. Every issue, something tries to bite off his arm before anything else. Dude's probably got to be thinking, "OH no you motherfucker, not again you don't." That's why he's always so angry. (in all seriousness it would be fun to do an ANIMAL MAN to him)

Either Hal deeply underestimated Darkseid's power or Darkseid had a boost.

It's meant to.be the first battle the JLA have with him in the DCnU, so I doubt they would be aware of how powerful Darkseid is anyway, but Darkseid's always been on a level higher than Superman in terms of strength.
