Likely, my first comic was one of the kid-friendly comics of the time; one of the Harvey series, or Archie. The comic, though, the first one I can really remember that I bought by myself and ignited my life-long love of comics? This one
That's cool, but I think it would be interesting to hear why you liked about it? Were there any stories that stuck in your mind particularly? Why did you pick this one in particular? That sort of thing....
Several reasons, perhaps. I vividly remember the Golden Age Atom (fin mask era) story as something obviously different, and this Atom was more appealing to me than the normal one; I saw very few stories from this era until the age of the Internet.
The thing that really got me, though, was probably the Legion of Superheroes double-parter introducing the heroes of Lallor. Man, I had a huge hankering for more Legion after that.
That's what I liked about it, all those heroes from another time: The Atom, Plastic Man, Sargon the Sorcerer, even the Doom Patrol were new to me (From a six year old's perspective, they might as well have been Golden Age heroes), and the two Batman stories were him at his best.

Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
