Okay, so for Beyond the Big Two week, I wanted to post some of Falling for Lionheart, a little book I found at Boston Comic Con that I'm quite fond of. Problem is, my copy is currently not in the same state as I am, so the images I'm posting are from the artist's site and so lack words. Sorry.

Falling for Lionheart takes place in a world in which superheroes are more like sports stars. They wear uniforms, are featured in magazines, go to high profile parties, etc. This is cool for everyone except Lionheart, who pines after one of his teammates. (The girl one.) He doodles a few comics about his feelings, but doesn't show them to anyone.

An artsy, underground comic girl ends up discovering him and showing him a new world, stranger and more fascinating than any he's seen as a superhero.

He begins to fall for her and, well, to find out the rest, you'll have to read the book.

I'm a big fan of this book. The story can be a little flat and predictable at times, but it's still a lot of fun and I have soooo much love for the art here. Seriously. Love this art.

So, check it out. Falling for Lionheart. By Ilias Kyriazis
