Fables #125-126

To clarify, Prince Brandish is the prince from the fairy tale "Snow-White and Rose-Red" (while Prince Charming was the one from "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs").









Waaay back in issue 94, the Blue Fairy made a deal with Beast: In 777 days' time, he would turn over Geppetto to her. If he didn't, then she'd take Beast instead, and he'd have to be her slave for 777 years.

777 days is now up; she's come to collect.

The Blue Fairy in particular looks amazing. She looked good before, but I like this re-vamp.

Brandish doesn't seem to realise what he's getting himself into by attempting to kill Bigby and his kids though, magic sword or no.

Trying to kill Bigby is bad enough, but taking on Winter, who's become a primal force of nature co-equal to Brandish's erstwhile master Mister Dark? Or Therese, the now grown-up Queen of Toyland? Ghost, who's intangible and can steal the very breath from your lungs? Yeah, good luck with that.

I even doubt he's a match for Snow in riled up Mama Bear mode.

I'm actually surprised he was still conscious by the end of his little diatribe about killing the kids, Snow would have decked him then and there, no?

Her brain is still catching up and digesting the utter insanity of what he just said, because even she can't believe anybody who has any inkling of her family would threaten to kill them just like that...and expect to live...has got to be kidding...or insane.

She probably let's him finish talking out of respect for the history they share, but I have no doubt in my mind about the seriousness of her statements to him towards the end of the issue.

He's threatened her kids right in front of her. The only reason he's still drawing breath is because she hasn't decided just how horribly to kill him to get the point across.

Snow seems so helpless in these pages, but man oh man her response to him after he's finished rambling is good. She may not come out of this unscathed, but Snow White is gonna kick some butt before this arc is over!

And Mark Buckingham draws that panel perfectly!
