That is exactly what it looks like is about to happen in that panel. The hugging and the way it's framed, it looks exactly like the sort of shot we'd get of Bruce and Selina just before cutting away tastefully.
Nice ending, but what on Earth is the rationale for leaving the treatment of Joker-caused acid burns to Alfred? He COULD get better medical care, and not calling in Leslie is absurd. "It's a family matter" is NOT good enough in such a situation.
Best suggestion as to why they don't call her? She doesn't have the same, close connection to the Bat Family in this continuity that she did in the previous one.
The previous one knew the secret identities of all of Batman's cohorts, even Selina Kyle and Holly, but this one might not so they don't want to risk it.
IF she still knows in the current continuity, this is just being really, REALLY irresponsible. Though not as much as Jason not checking his helmet before putting it on, when he knew that the Joker had pinched it.
There's something I don't really get, although I could be misinterpreting this...
Isn't Bruce refusing to consult Leslie kind of counterproductive? I mean, yes, okay, let's suppose he wants to keep it a 'family matter' for safety reasons. I can understand not taking him to the hospital because Jason would be vulnerable there and it would raise questions. But if Bruce was truly concerned about Jason's well-being (which he does appear to be), why wouldn't he want to get Jason the best help possible? And since Leslie is pretty well integrated with the BatFamily, asking her for advice/help wouldn't really be taking it out of the family. Or is Leslie different in the new 52?
Also wee-Jason's face in the bottom panel of the second page is the cutest thing ever.
As I said above, chances are she isn't as close to the Bat Family post-Barry's Timescrew. 'Cause only Babs (and now possibly Harper) is the only woman allowed within the immediate Bat Family, what with Kathy and Helena off doing their own things.
Heh, just noticed that Jason has a modified version of Tim's Robin outfit on there, which Tim presumably never had considering he was never Robin in this continuity. Cute.
That's some of the most stilted dialogue this side of Chris Claremont. "There is too much talk about blame between us!" Sounds like it was written by an Asian language speaker using Google Translate.
Okay, the line "But one thing I never apologise for ... is taking a chance on you." is a genuinely sweet line that Jason would appreciate hearing.
But the sticking point between them isn't that Jason can't bear to be home because he 'failed' him, it's because he thinks Batman cares more about the 'mission' than he cares about him (not avenging him, getting a new Robin that's nothing like him, etc).
And, y'know. Jason will always be willing to kill people. He's made it pretty clear that he does not agree with the 'never kill' rule. Batman is supposed to NEVER tolerate killing.
Honestly, I really would like to see them reconcile, but they need to actually ADDRESS the massive issues between them and acknowledge the fact that they will never ever agree on some fundamental issues that go to the core of their characters.
Alfred is Doctor Strange. That's the only way any of this makes sense. Burns, especially acid burns, are really difficult to treat without infection. And yet Jason's on a regular bed, out in the open with Bruce touching him instead of a sterile room.
All I have to say is poor Jason. He doesn't deserve this.

EDIT: Art's fantastic, though.
