Despite the fact that these scans are hilarious, I also think they really represent what a good Justice League is all about. I'll go into detail after the pictures. This is from JLA: The Hypothetical Woman, written by Gail Simone (which would explain why it is so awesome) with art by Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez.

Superman's narration is great. They just go to beat up robots and stuff so they could get violent without hurting people, which is apparently awesome fun. The poses are also brilliant, Batman's kicked up feet and little smug grin. Wally all curled up. Supes bringing them coffee! Diana baking cakes! Wally and John freaking out at her baking. Wally's expression in the last panel.

Batman taking charge and snarking at Superman is totally how I perceive those two, including Supes rolling his eyes. Diana's ^_^ face is so cute. As is Wally speeding past to take some delicious baked goods. John and Wally are still looking at each other with raised eyebrows, which is amusing.
And I really don't think there is anything but brilliance in that last panel of Batman talking with his mouth full of cake. Good to see you were raised with manners Bruce. What would Alfred say?

But he still did it. ;)

Date: 2009-06-10 03:38 pm (UTC)You know, I'm not too familiar with John and Wally's interaction in the DCU, but their interaction here kind of complements how they were in JLU. It was a fun buddy relationship on the show, IIRC.

Date: 2009-06-10 06:42 pm (UTC)Also-- my interpretation of that little smile Clark gives as Bruce walks off is that he's thinking "Recipe request in 5, 4, 3..." Clark knows Bruce's tastes well, you see. He knows what Bruce likes in his mouth.

Date: 2009-06-10 11:04 pm (UTC)And you totally constructed the second part to sound dirty the first time you read if it you're an S_D regular, didn't you? But Bruce probably did manage to get ahold of Ma Kent's apple pie recipe... (and it doesn't turn out as well when Alfred prepares it because pies aren't his specialty, unfortunately; Bruce would help him but her almost burned down the kitchen last time he tried to cook something more difficult than a cold sandwich... and... dammit, stop making me fanfic! >_< ... ;P ... ^_^).

Date: 2009-06-11 09:42 pm (UTC)OK, now my mind has seized upon this. What else could be served to represent the other JLA members?
Superman would be beef bourguignon (however you spell it) with ketchup, since that's his favorite food.
Batman would be... eh... well, I suppose there's either vichysoise, which Alfred served him in 'Batman Returns', or PB&J (which, according to a short story I read once, is his favorite snack). Maybe both.
Aquaman, of course, would be fish of some kind - grilled tuna, maybe.
Martian Manhunter would be Oreo cookies.
Green Lantern would probably be green Jell-O. Either that, or dark chocolate cookies with green frosting.
The Flash would be burgers, since they A: represent 'fast food', and B: seem kind of midwestern, which he is. There would, of course, be both mustard and ketchup available.
There are lots of other JLA members, but I can't think of any more food. Anyone else have ideas?
