Remember Teen Titans: Year One, the mini written by Amy Wolfram and with amazing art by Karl Kerschl? Back when DC acknowledged there had been a Teen Titans that included Dick Grayson, Donna Troy, Roy Harper, Wally West and Garth of Atlantis?
Over on his Tumblr, Karl Kerschl has just unveiled a set of "lost pages" from the series, which were supposed to run as a two page episodic story in each issue as a future member of the team tries to track down these new Teen Titans, but never quite manages it in time for their paths to intersect.

So there you have it. We only finished three issues of ‘Beast Boy’ before it got cut. Hope you like ‘em!
I can see they sort of have a point about an absence of talking wildlife in the DCU, and Gar's never shown any skills in communicating with animals other than humans, but it's a cute idea, and a shame it didn't make it.

The original concept was to do a two-page Beast Boy sequence at the end of each issue, telling the story of Beast Boy (always depicted as an animal) looking for the Teen Titans he’s heard so much about because he wants to join. He visits the locations from the story but is always too late to catch them. In the end, I guess he would have found them and he’d have been included in Teen Titans: Year Two. Presumably.

On the other, I do see DC's point in that this series, as I understand it, was actually in-continuity and took place in the regular DC Universe, which still adheres to a certain level of realism. I mean, I wouldn't expect Superman to ever get literally flattened like a pancake after getting stomped by a robot, like some Bugs Bunny cartoon, not even in the most light-hearted Silver Age issue of Action.
