"It’s one of the most challenging things about this book and one of the most satisfying things. The tone is a very specific tone and it requires a balancing act. We want it to be dark and spooky, but we don’t want it to be terrifyingly dark and too spooky. My eight year old niece needs to be able to read this book, but it also has to feel like it has some gravitas to it. The dark and spooky stuff still needs to be effective. That stuff’s tough to achieve, I don’t think we could do it without Karl’s deft hand pulling it all together in the artwork stage. He really knows how to strike that balance perfectly." - Brenden Fletcher

"Gotham Academy was at [the American Library Association midsummer meeting], where we learned there was no such thing as “all ages.” Honestly, I am writing my part of Gotham Academy for myself. This is the kind of book I want to enjoy, but at the same time I’m very conscious that my eight-year-old niece needs a book like this. If I have to drill down and say it has to be shelved in a certain place or recommended to a specific demographic, I would say young people eight to 14. My niece is eight and she loves Gotham Academy. I feel very proud when I give her a book and she devours it and wants more. I had her in mind when I put it together. I need to know this is something she is really going to enjoy. It feels really validating. I know that it’s not inappropriate for that age range, we are not putting anything in there that would be inappropriate at all, but also I know this story plays for somebody at that age. It’s really been stirring a chord with her." - Brenden Fletcher

Here's my feeble attempt Dudes in Distress Week. I actually wracked my brains trying to think of a good story to post and having wanted to post this story for a while it stood out to me.
What happens when Superman falls into a near death state? Who can save the day? Part 1 of 3.
7 pages from a 22 page story.
Co-starring a female who would make Jaime Reyes say "Hot Damn!"

Greetings True Believers!
I've been inspired by Domino Blue's post below so I'll be taking a rare dip into the DC pool.
Back in 2004 DC had a mini-series were Wildstorm hero and Superman analogue Mr. Majestic landed in the main DCverse.
Now, Mr. M is quite different then Clark and it's been rubbing this Earth the wrong way.
Stop me if you've heard this one before. Two superheroes walk into a diner...
Enjoy!

Be warned this post is going to have sixteen scans (of four issues). Oh and this is the infamous story involving Cassandra Cain written by Adam Beechen (Robin #148-149 plus Batgirl #52 & 73). You'll probably find yourself a member of the Red Lantern Corp after reading these scans if you're a fan of Cassandra Cain or Tim Drake. You've been warned.
