^ This. ALL of this. DOTF Joker was too much of a slasher-movie Villain Sue and there wasn't even a hint of any of the charm that made you WANT more of the Joker after each appearance. Also, and perhaps the biggest crime of all, Joker wasn't funny. And I don't mean that in a "I'm not telling jokes, this is serious" kind of way, but the attempts at "dead baby comedy" were just cringe-worthy. Freddy Kruger had better one-liners. The thing that made me like Joker, even as a villain, was that even when he was doing horrible things, his sense of humor was infectious and I couldn't help but at least chuckle. He was funny, even if it was in his own sick twisted way.
After DOTF, I almost hope Joker DOESN'T come back because I'm afraid of how much more depraved, violent, sadistic, and outright unfunny they'll make him.
