So... in the unposted pages, does Willow give any explanation for why the book won't or can't bring Tara back? Because she seems pretty much wrong.

When Buffy was brought back, it was made clear that she was basically torn out of Heaven and that was pretty much the worst thing possible.

So, yes. It would work. But it -shouldn't- be done.

Well, Giles wasn't torn out of Heaven and isn't exactly perfectly fine with his current situation.

he doesn't seem to wish he was dead.

And a while back they had a bunch of good guy goddesses offer Tara as a sort of guiding spirit to Willow that she turned down to leave Tara at rest. But they were good and it was something Willow needed so would they rally offer an unwilling guide?

But he'd be defining how resurrection spells work. Why not include a bit about the spells only succeeding if the deceased personally wanted them to and would be happier for coming back?

Because unless you have a lawyer sit down and work it out with you so you write a 10,000-word wish, there's every risk that the book will make that change by doing something terribly unpleasant to the nature of the afterlife in order to make the deceased want to come back.

So what is Gile's "proper" age? He's got the intellect of his adult self apparently, but is sitting in his new apartment wearing dinosaur dressing gown and with a Power Ranger (or equivalent) action figure on his desk, which his old self would have been unlikely to collect, since he would have been far too old to have been a kid when Power Rangers first came out).

Adolescent hormones and the like are one thing, but his tastes appear to be juvenile too, which seems a little weird.

Though I can see him overanalysing some things, and given that he used to take his glasses off to polish them a lot, so he didn't have to see teenagers being teenagers, the next few years are going to be... interesting for him I suspect.

that said. i think in the Haunting Arc his desire was attention from his father and a childhood he never had (he liked playing with model airplanes)
