It's hardly 'hacky'. It doesn't really aspire to be anything other than 'Titans vs Avengers' as a fun little face-off. I'm sure if they tried writing an actual story, it'd have more weight than this.
Promoting Marvel comics to the large teenage Attack on Titan fanbase?
Yes, I found it hacky. Because most of the dialogue is lazy and mostly confined to catchphrases, basic cause and effect plotting isn't there (Guardians of the Galaxy appearing out of nowhere for one panel because of the movie) complete with the hooked on the feeling because that's the most obvious association with them. Among other reasons. Less of a story, more of a random collection of scenes.
And honestly, who cares. That's just my opinion, and not everybody is obviously going to agree with me. That doesn't make your enjoyment of the comic any less valid and vice versa.
I honestly don't see the point of starting an argument about this specific comic. If you liked it, great!
I would've liked it more if they tried writing a story around it, that doesn't mean it has to be super-serious, just something to make it a little more memorable. That's it, just my tastes.
Founded by girl geeks and members of the slash fandom, scans_daily strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBTQ-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harassment free.
Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
