OMG yes, it's an Intrepid-class that's been kitbashed with random junk. (Which is pretty much what the DS9 production crew did once when they wanted to put together a big space battle and suggest that the Federation had more than a few starship classes, but didn't have the money to kick out a bunch of entirely new designs.)
While it's nice that there's a little ambiguity, it's the same example that always comes up, and the more it comes up the more odd it gets that THIS particular line is so un-crossable given what MARVEL's Heroes have done, let alone the Inhumans. Obviously weening the U.S. off of its idea that they know what they're doing in...any situation at all is a good one, but it's kind of a false dichotomy to present it as if the only choices here are "invade" and "ignore". They're not without resources besides violence, after all.
But they have super-limited page space, a plot to follow, and hey Sin-Cong's not going anywhere.
See, Chaz, that high-concept pitch is very nice, but my problem with it is that... how to put this delicately...there's too much "Inhumans" in there. Maybe scrape away some of that "Inhumans" and a little more "Planetary" and I'd be able to give it my full confidence. Maybe.
Yes to the former, no to the latter. They quietly slipped her back into SHIELD after she was dismissed from the Director's position, then they started calling her Skye like that was some cute nickname she'd had all along, but they hadn't said she was an Inhuman before this.
Nope. In Waid's SHIELD, her powers were said to be the result of latent Inhuman DNA on her mother's side. They developed on their own, without Terrigen, because her dad had already completely screwed up his own DNA with Mr. Hyde experiments before she was born.
An interesting notion, and the Inhumans dealing with political ramifications of their rather... dodgy foreign policy is at least an acknowledgement of the notion that such a thing exists.
I still have so many issues with the Inhumans be recognised as an independent country THIS quickly though.
And I'm not sure that "We can handle a little diplomacy" being said by Gorgon of all people was supposed to make me giggle at the absurdity.
