Gen-13: "Uncle Cloud"

I was cleaning out my Photobucket account the other day and discovered a few pages from an old issue of Gen-13. I posted them to the old s_d, where they were reasonably popular.

This is Rick Mays on art and Adam Warren on words, from the old run of Gen-13, two volumes ago and right before Warren blew up the team.

Incidentally, I've also read Empowered #5 recently. I should like to propose an Adam Warren week. Anyone down for that?

I know it's a good habit to cultivate, and he should be more responsible in demonstrating gun safety to a child, but then again, the pistol was obviously empty.

Is coming out at a target-shooting hang-out an oft-used thing? I know I've read it in CSI fic (I was curious, I dabbled for a day or so! I think), and when I read it there I'm pretty sure I thought "huh, this again, that's a coincidence".

Characters like Uncle Billy make me sort of want my sister to have babies. Sort of. For a second! When she's grown up.

Yup. DC wanted to 'reboot' Gen 13 so Chris Clarement could come in to write it, so Warren killed everybody in the second to last issue.

Warren did a story dealing with the aftermath of the Gen 13's death... starring several characters he introduced in his run. Good story, too.

Because nothing says "buy this new series with charming characters!" like "their predecessors were charming characters too, and all died cheaply because that's how things roll in this book."

Needless to say, some of us hated it. Incredibly hated it.
