The FLASH #26 synopsis looks like a Take That to Dan DiDio. Barry Allen has to be alone for the rest of his life because that's how it is for superheroes. Because every DC hero has to be as miserable as Batman.

Don't they mean the interstellar space filled with the gas and dust that will eventually coalesce into Earth's solar system in another 5 billion years or so?

I don't think so, because Earth was the original home for the Oans in the DC universe, remember, they left Earth because it was home to the Life entity.

yeah, I think that was one of the big reveals from Blackest Night. Earth was really the home world of the Guardians, and they left and moved to Oa to protect the Life Entity through some misdirection thing.
And that is also why Earth is home to so many members of the GLC compared to other planets.

This must be something that was retconned in the last few years. The Oans originally came from Maltus, one of the first planets to develop intelligent life, in all the stories I'm familiar with.

Yeah, it ends with issue 25, though apparently by Rucka's own choice to focus on other projects. Fontana is in for five issues, then it gets a new regular who hasn't been announced (though Gail Simone has been expressing interest).

Not being up to date, how was Rucka's run? I assume he did a fair bit more beyond deal with continuity snarls?

Oh, that's kinda disappointing, especially given that it's 25 issues.

His first run had a lot of stuff happen, and while it took a little time to get going too, by the teens it was already in the fantastic Eye of the Gorgon storyline.
