The FLASH #26 synopsis looks like a Take That to Dan DiDio. Barry Allen has to be alone for the rest of his life because that's how it is for superheroes. Because every DC hero has to be as miserable as Batman.

Hey, I don't think Batman's been that miserable lately.

All right, not lately. But say, 1986 to 2006? That's certainly a long time.

Sure, but it's a time that's years old and years gone - at that rate you're bound to get called out for beating the same drum.

From the solicitation for GREEN LANTERS #27: "Cast back in time, Jessica and Simon must survive on the savage Earth of ten billion years ago!"

Don't they mean the interstellar space filled with the gas and dust that will eventually coalesce into Earth's solar system in another 5 billion years or so?

From: [personal profile] remial
I don't think so, because Earth was the original home for the Oans in the DC universe, remember, they left Earth because it was home to the Life entity.

They what now??

From: [personal profile] remial
yeah, I think that was one of the big reveals from Blackest Night. Earth was really the home world of the Guardians, and they left and moved to Oa to protect the Life Entity through some misdirection thing.
And that is also why Earth is home to so many members of the GLC compared to other planets.
but I could be wrong, it has been a while since I read all that.

This must be something that was retconned in the last few years. The Oans originally came from Maltus, one of the first planets to develop intelligent life, in all the stories I'm familiar with.

I'm slightly concerned about the Donna Troy romance. Wat is the world coming to when Donna gets a love interest who might be good for her?

Roy is good for her... sometimes, and Wally is an odd choice since he's sort of pining after Linda.

Nice! And 'Gail following not long after Rucka' is what they should've done the first time.

Not being up to date, how was Rucka's run? I assume he did a fair bit more beyond deal with continuity snarls?

Oh, that's kinda disappointing, especially given that it's 25 issues.

His first run had a lot of stuff happen, and while it took a little time to get going too, by the teens it was already in the fantastic Eye of the Gorgon storyline.

Naw, come on, that seems like misrepresentation, especially from a 'from what I've heard' standpoint.

I'm going to put together some posts over the weekend, let you folks decide with actual evidence.

Amanda Waller's opposite number, Karla.

That reference is out of tune with this Suicide Squad run's tone.

(Still, it's good to know a level of thought beyond " slap the name on a generic high-octane black ops superteam book " was put in at some point.)

How can a name be out of tune with the book's tone? A name is a name, isn't it?
