The first thing that I picked up was the Witchblade Animated issue, but the late Darwyn Cooke and Paul Dini. Somebody pointed it my way because it's got The Magdalena in it.
For those of you unfamiliar with her, The Magdalena is the descendant of Mary Magdalene and Christ, and is armed with the spear that pierced Christ's side. She's a legacy, working for the Catholic Church, and there have been generations of Magdalenas. I would love to read a book about the medieval Magdalena, like Lake of Fire, but I don't see it happening.
I'm moderately intrigued by her new series, though I'm not enjoying it as much as Vol.3, which had beautiful covers by Ryan Sook

And amazing interior art by Nelson Blake II

On to the actual issue for free, which features Witchblade fighting The Darkness.
First, an intro for The Magdalena. No, I don't know why she has a sword like that

Then, as Witchblade fights The Darkness, The Magdalena bursts in. No, I don't know why she has two swords like that.

The fight is all about who can get their hands on an artifact. This is the story of said artifact.

And adventures continue.

Aphrodite has a few series. I really like the most recent far-future 'Bioengineered tribe vs Cyborg tribe' one, which IX Generation follows off of (And Generation gets kinda weird- it has a lot of plot go by pretty fast, sometimes summerized, but it's an interesting setting).

She occasionally uses other weapons, lets her keep a somewhat lower profile. Though, yea, the two swords there (two... katana by the look of it?) is pretty uncommon.
