Sorry, I'm working on the whole pedantry thing, but Luddite is a pet peeve. The Luddites weren't opposed to progress as a general point of policy, but rather they were reacting to a specific interaction of advancing technology and economic forces that changed textile work from a skilled and well paid career to, basically, wage slavery.
