The news incited the people of Rome to riot.

Emperor Nero sent for the Detectioner of Rome, Antonius Axia.

(Achillia, introduced in the second series, ended up in Nero's interest at its end.)

The two of them set off at Nero's behest.

They went first to the nephew of General Verres, who'd been second to his uncle at Tottenwald.

They learned that Verres was now serving the empire in Egypt.

They went next in search of any remnant of Verres' legions.

They found one.



(They're in a quarter of Rome where people in situations like Clodius' tend to end up.)



(Nero's interest in Achillia was, apparently, partly pragmatic.)



(Nice use of lettering with Nero.)



(The events of Antonius' life've displaced his faith.

The art here is really impressive. Especially with Nero's unhinged facial expressions. I love historical comics, though they seem quite rare and patchy in regards to their quality.
