It baffles me that Bruce was stabbed through the torso - and that's one of two bits they kept. Surely that's the bit that needs the life support? More than his coccyx, anyway.
I... actually kinda like this and might pick it up. From Azrael's crazy Venom costume to his ruling over a terrible Gotham, even the revelation of a broken, cybernetic prisoner Bruce Wayne works for me.
This is very much the kind of thing I want to see from these weird what-if? Dark Multiverse titles.
EDIT: I impulse bought this on Comixology and did in fact enjoy it. I do wish we'd have had a bit more a tour of this universe (for ongoing alt-universe titles I usually don't like too much of that, but for a one-shot I think it's okay) and gotten to meet some more characters, but overall I did actually enjoy this. Thanks for sharing and spurring me to try it.
' ' ' ' Near the end of this comic, Azrael decides to give himself a venom boost - by ripping off an enemy venom-user's arm and drinking the blood. It's the most wonderful stupid thing I've seen in quite a bit.
They miss the point of being dark and edgy. Such stories are supposted to be exceptionally engaging due to higher stakes. Almost everything DC past Flashpoint is just plain boring. The most interesting of their books are actually the lighter ones: Super Sons, New Super Man, Young Justice etc.
I dunno. The actual ending of the book is just as edgy. With the surprise heel turn. Which was a shame. I kind of enjoyed the new character introduced in this.
