Darn it, got distracted yesterday by events, so forgot to post this, but I'll blame the time difference and my complete disconnect with the space time continuum resulting from lockdown.

Some fun fusions from Luciano Vecchio, who was inspired by Newsarama's recent Amalgam Again feature.



Some of these are quite movie-centric, but none the worse for that.



Iron Man + Batman = Iron Bat

Spider-Man + Nightwing = Night Monkey



Black Panther + Aquaman = Tiger Shark

Storm + Mera = Maelstrom



Wonder Woman + Captain America = Amazon America

Donna Troy + Winter Soldier = Winter Wonder



Thor + Superman = Semigod

Loki + Luthor = Lex Lokhir



Captain Marvel + Green Lantern = Emerald Marvel

Nick Fury + Amanda Waller = Amy Rage



Hulk + Shazam!/Captain Marvel = SMASH!

She-Hulk + Mary Marvel = JENNY SMASH!



Black Widow + Black Canary = Black Mantis

Deadpool + Harley Quinn = Pollcinello

Hawkeye + Huntress = Crosshairs






So, so you have suggestions for Amalgams you'd like to see, or indeed made up yourself? :)

Not sure on some of the names*, but the art is great, and the combinations are creative.

* Semigod is terrible (not that I can come up with a better name that maintains the S), Poolcinello is...well, not more terrible than you could expect from Wade, and I'm not sure why 'Widow' and 'Canary' combined into 'Mantis'. And both Marvel and DC actually have characters named Tiger Shark, so that's a bit of an odd choice.

On the other hand...Kudos for the Night Monkey reference, and Maelstrom is an excellent name for a Mera/Storm Amalgam.

I had a bunch of fun coming up with Amalgams some years back, but I can't remember any of them, now...but I'll pop back here if they come to mind. >_>

Not so much "widow" as "black widow", as in the spider, I think.

So we get "Black" from Canary, and "Mantis" frm "lethal creepy crawly", which isn't a spider, but has wings... kinda. :)

Plus, there is a style of Chinese martial arts called Northern Praying Mantis.

I misread the title as Anagrams, and while these are great too, I'm still a bit disappointed. We need more anagrams.

For example, Spider-Man could have:

Armed Spin (Whirlwind)
Mad Sniper (Deadshot)
Mean Drips (Hydro Man)
Pained Mrs. (Susan Richards)
Prides Man (Catman or Black Panther)
