Stay classy, Ennis.

I swear, it's like he can't resist the urge to turn every cheap joke, awful stereotype, and filthy image that comes into his head into material for his work, and pass it off as satire.

I mean sure, I -get- the concept of humor, but he's like a shock comic who goes to the extremes and defends himself by saying he's making fun of how -real- bigots/homophoboes/etc behave.

For me it isn't. That "Thug" stereotype is a racist's justification to murder my Black ass.

It's kind of incredible how because the priority here is to dunk on superheroes first and foremost the story is likely going to spare no sympathy to the black man being coerced by corporate to embody a stereotype, or the woman to wear a costume she's not comfortable with.

Loony Leftie looks kinda rad though. Kinda like an anticapitalist 80s action hero.

What do you want to bet that by the time the Boys confront them, the two will have been 'corrupted' by Superheroics and now eagerly embrace the very stereotypes they were originally against? Or they'll turn out to be truly awful people for different reasons in order for the story to justify whatever horrific thing that's going to happen to them.

And I'm sure that the entire time, Butcher is going to think about how these people wouldn't be so bad if not the corruptive nature of Superheroics, so he'll still feel real bad about splattering them, but he has to, because he's a Hard Man That Does Hard Thingsā„¢

Billy only "splatters" heroes when under orders to do so. It was only personal with Black Noir and the Homelander for obvious reasons.

His big "kill all supes (and everyone else who happens to have Compound V in their systems)" was "I'm doin' what has to be done, Hughie."

Okay?

That wasn't really my point, nor does it go against what I was saying in the first place.

Billy Butcher only killed people under orders. Sure, there was the one time he murdered most of his own team and tried to commit genocide, but everyone gets a cheat day. It was only one crime against humanity, and he thought it was justified.
