Yeah, we were going right back to the original physical model for Sinestro. [Sinestro co-creator] Gil Kane used David Niven so we thought it would be funny if this Anti-Matter Sinestro was this English gentleman. Give him a slight cynical bite and sense of humor and it just set the whole origins for the character again and we loved the look of his colors; we reversed the colors of his Sinestro suit, it looks great! -- Grant Morrison

This issue is told in reverse chronological order, with each scene taking place further in the past than the one before it.

I saw this issue's art described as Liam Sharp going full 2000AD, and that's right on the money because this is gorgeous.

I've been thinking about getting into Morrison/Sharp's Green Lantern (spurred by some general thinking that Green Lantern across DC's entire output is in a more creatively fertile place than it's possibly ever been) and this issue in particular has me engaged. The only things hold me back are the fact that I think the series is 4 issues out from the conclusion and part of me wants to wait for it all, and that they haven't put together any sort of trade of Black Stars for some reason.
