Meanwhile, since they’re unable to outrun him or shake him off for long, Tails and Amy are able to lure Zomom to the town’s entrance where they successfully trap him under the gate.

You know I'm pretty sure not even the Archie comics Sonic ever went as dark as this series is getting, and that series had a straight up domestic abuse subplot at one point.

IDW basically grabbed the Sonic franchise and was like "OKAY WE'RE GONNA DO THE WALKING DEAD WITH THIS BYEEEEEE!" before Sega could even blink.

This is hardly Walking Dead.

For one thing, the characters don't actually throw themselves at the zombies and then act surprised when they get bit.

For another, they (Sonic et all) understand basic tactical advantages like choke points and trip wires.
