Yeah, the instant he mentioned Cordyceps in an earlier preview, I knew that guy had gone Team Fungus.

Not sure if this is intentional in his character design or not, but his man-bun looks a lot like the fungal tower that bursts out of infected ants' heads once cordyceps makes them climb high enough to spread its spores.

Including previously used characters and themes is hardly going Claremont.

In fact, this is barely a 3 on the Claremont scale.
No-one's been brainwashed, or turned evil, or brainwashed to evil, or turned into anything, much less put in a skimpy black outfit.
(unless there's stuff in the pages not scanned.)

Not even a glimpse of Poirot Speak.
Nul points, m'sieu.

Actually amazed that Waller is capable of taking a vacation.
Or relaxing.
Must be some strong stuff in that drink.

(ooh, stuff coming out of the eyes. That's just nasty...)

Yeeeaaah...that's not how fungi work. They don't do partnerships very well. Nor do they need to.

Good portion of them do live in symbiosis with trees.

Indeed some do. However, fungi seems less kind when it comes to meat. Especially the type of fungus this guy has coming out of his eye sockets.

No argument about eye fungi, but there are lots of pretty harmless fungi that live on us. Like the one that gave me seborrheic dermatitis (well, it's thought of as a factor in the forming of the disease). We all have it, and for most it just is there without doing anything.
