The reason I think that people leaned into that is because he did something unique in making Gotham the main character. That was sort of his thesis. Tom King, his signature on Batman has been, he leaned into the everyman. He brought him down to earth and tried to make him, you know, a dude who’s struggling with some issues and, as Tom always says, “looking sadly out at rain out of windows” and going on dates with Catwoman and everything else. He sort of took all the theatrical stuff that’s the reason most people go to Batman and then he subdued it all, and just found the ordinary amidst the extraordinary.
