"I didn’t have the emotional confidence to do a story like “Panther’s Quest,” so instead I did the Ku Klux Klan story. That was around America’s bicentennial, and I thought myself pretty well-versed on American history. The story caused a real stir, which would only have intensified if it happened today due to social media. It really made a number of people upset."
