Sorry this took so long to get to (presuming anyone even remembers or cares about the last post, anyway), I was generally preoccupied by exams and whatnot. I’ll try to be more consistent with these in the future.

When we last left off, the evil terrorist organisation known as Black Ghost began work on their latest diabolical plot, kidnapping various miscreants from around the world and using them as test subjects to perfect their cyborg technology. They have eight so far, and have set their sights on a potential ninth.

People here seem to like retro manga, so here’s one I rather enjoyed when I was younger (well, I watched the 2001 anime, but still). The translation work’s a bit spotty and there’s a few bouts of things getting lost in translation, but that gets the job done for the most part. Trigger warnings for attempted suicide and racism, the latter being mostly intentional on the villains’ parts but can also be... unintentional (they’re not written anything like they’re drawn, but the black characters tend to look like this). Please remember to read right to left!

Anyone looking at the Google homepage today will have seen that they are honouring the man too.

I've posted about him before, but make no apologies for posting to celebrate what would have been his 75th birthday, in some happy alternate universe where he is still with us, and probably still wowing us.

Alas, on our Earth, Mr Henson left the world over 20 years ago now, at an absurdly young age, but he achieved more creative output in his life than just about any other three artists you can name, and all thanks to a skill with puppets, a belief that children didn't need to be talked down to to be entertained and an unshakeable conviction in the fundamental decency of people.

Of course, he's still best known for the magnificent lunacy which was the (proudly UK financed and produced) magnum opus "The Muppet Show" which included everything from boomerang fish, to Peter Sellers playing the gypsy violin.
