It's brought back the Joe Casey/Nathan Fox creation whose debut was a Dark Reign mini.
This is his first usage that's not scripted by Casey, and it's a deft one.
He's set up in issue #1, in a scope befitting his history - looking in on Marc Spector's life, and sneering.
( ' You make me sick, Moon Knight. Or Mr. Knight. Or Jake Lockley. Or Steven Grant. ' )

"It's no secret that I love street-level stuff, and to me, Moon Knight belongs on the street. He's the weird street-level guy who deals with weird street-level stuff, and I think there's a space for him there that just works. In this series, we're working on establishing that space for him, showing readers what the Moon Knight corner of the world looks like."

"It's also particularly difficult to figure out who you want to be moving forward when you're a walking mess of contradictions. Marc's a priest of a god he betrayed and imprisoned. He's a Jew who wears the vestments of a god who oppressed his people. He's a superhero (with a cape, even) none of the other superheroes like or trust. He's Mr. Knight, the altruistic proprietor of the Midnight Mission, and Moon Knight, the bringer of violence by night.
He's got a lot to work through."

"The thing about Moon Knight though is that it's not really his DID that's his biggest problem, despite his reputation for being "the crazy one" or whatever -- it's the choices he makes. It wasn't Jake Lockley who took down the Avengers, it wasn't Steven Grant who put Khonshu in charge of the world, all the way back to his first choice to accept Khonshu's offer to become his fist. We'll be exploring the fallout of those choices on Marc's mental state and how that will affect him moving forward." -- Jed MacKay

"The first story we’re telling, I’m hoping to create the ultimate nemesis for Moon Knight. I know he has one a little bit, but I still feel, like when we were talking about it initially, if he’s Batman, he doesn’t really have a Joker — yet. What I’m doing is, rather than focusing on his inner struggles so much, this is about him coming up against really intense, life-changing scenarios, and the main one being facing the ultimate bad guy who’s his polar opposite in pretty much every way (without giving away too much)."
