Also, Ennis absolutely loves the old 'tear the face off' move. It's appeared in Preacher over the course of a story arc, it's the signature move of the Female in The Boys, and there's even a character named 'Face' in Crossed after the severed face he wears as a leather thong.

This issue is basically a redress of the Hitman/Lobo special (in which Tommy shoots out Lobo's eyes and later hits him with a wrecking ball, as opposed to Frank using a steamroller on Logan), and has some of the worst writing of Logan ever, as high (or low) as that bar is set. I think that this was during the phase of Ennis' tenure on the Punisher where he was working on getting the title switched to MAX status.
