Can I just say that I prefer Toon Titans over any version of comic book Titans? I actually prefer that series's Starfire, Raven, Slade, Robin, Brother Blood over their comic book counterparts?
Yay! X-Men Evolution is another case of me preferring the cartoons over comics ( I'm planning to watch the 90's series, the opening theme and Prof. X/Magneto slash was enough to convince me to watch it), I happen to like Goth Rouge, not-all-that-assholish-Scott, non-Phoenix-involved Jean, the Xavier/Logan slash, Scott/Rouge, etc, etc. Also, The Batman wasn't bad and I hate Ben 10: Alien Force.
Though their take on WW was weird, but still the show was awesome, John Stewart was awesome, Vixen was awesome, Shaeyra was awesome, Batman was likable and frankly it was an awesome crack-filled, long moment of awesomeness.
Yeah, I was kind of surprised that her 'Green Lantern Ring' esque powers weren't part of her comic book power set. Also the general lack of Goth-ness and the 'Sarcastic Only Sane Man' was kind of turn off.
Of course! That's what I get for typing while half-asleep. I still say DC is wasting their time by not introducing Slade to the comic books, oh heck even Brother Blood or Starfire or Raven for that matter.
You right, they are wasting copyrighted material not putting those characters in the comics. Man, I'd love to read a comic with Starfire and Cyborg in it. I've missed those two ever since the cartoon ended.
Yeah and having a team full of teenagers who lives in a 'T' shaped tower would perhaps be the most fun thing ever. Not to mention the team in the cartoons bounced between fun and grim dark, so you can basically fill in DC's Grim Dark quota but at the same time have a fun and enjoyable book.

I know, I know, fanfiction, but it's really really good and almost canon worthy.

(Disclaimer: we used to be online friends with him before he burned most of his bridges a few years back).

Date: 2010-02-21 08:21 pm (UTC)Sorry, but this is a major pet peeve of mine thanks to years of reading X-Men: Evolution back in the show's heyday.
That said, I do agree with the substance of your post. Mostly. I've kind of grown fond of the more ruthless Scott.
