So I was browsing Dr.Doom's article at Wikipedia (that's what it's good for!) when I came across this;

Date: 2009-04-10 06:49 pm (UTC)Which is one primary reason he and Nova were such a perfect pairing, as she was as physically asexual as he was and yet both of them retained their once-biological instincts they could no longer act upon. They could form the basis for the pairbonding they needed psychologically without facing the incompatibility they would have to deal with in dating a partner for whom sex was still physically possible.
I miss that pairing. Damn Ron Marz for killing her off. :(

Date: 2009-04-11 03:55 pm (UTC)Lots of times, Stan's revisions made the characters more accessible (and more successful) but I really would have liked to see the Surfer as something alien learning about emotions from scratch. It would also have made him a bit menacing and unpredictable, rather than the golden-hearted martyr.
