In the comments to these weekly posts (and only these posts), it's your chance to go as off topic as you like. Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat amongst yourselves.

I hope that New Year was an enjoyable experience for you all, and that you have, where necessary, recovered.

In an astonishingly tone deaf move in the US, House Republicans have moved to limit the powers of the Office of Congressional Ethics, against the wishes of Senior Republicand and without an acutal vote.

Not that the UK has much to be pleased about either, with our own Snoopers Charter being signed into law.

The first Sherlock in... a while (sorry, I lose track) aired. If you want to discuss it, go for it, but be careful about spoilers.

In what is either a brilliant piece of PR, or a powerful statement, performer Rebecca Ferguson has said that she has been invited to perform at the Presidential Inauguration, and will do so on the condition that she is allowed to sing "Strange Fruit", one of the most powerful, and racially charged, protest songs ever written (The "Strange Fruit" refers to the hanging bodies of African Americans murdered by lynch mobs. Billie Holliday's cover of it can be heard here). No decision has been made as yet...

Oh, and Trump's Press Secretary has asked us all to stop mocking Donald Trump... so guess what MY New Years resolution is going to be! >:)

Frank and Joe Hardy, the Hardy perennials (Sorry, couldn't resist) of the "plucky teenage detective genre" have a new series coming from Dynamite in a couple of months, and Dynamite Entertainment have released details, covers, and model sheets via entertainment Weekly, and they seem to have going a VERY different route this time.

Which should surprise no one, since the Hardy Boys have been re-invented more times than Batman in their ninety year history, spanning multiple book imprints, two TV series (three counting the Mickey Mouse Club adaption), a psychedelic 60's cartoon, comics and graphic novels..

This time around we seem to be looking at something akin to Hardy Boys Noir, as a very different Nancy Drew joins them in...

His second retirement was less bloody than his first- he bought it with blackmail, not death.

He left the world of rich men that bankrolled death fights for the woods.

There, he had his dog, wild prey to hunt.. and memories.

He missed one of the second because of some of the third. )
