In the comments to these weekly posts (and only these posts), it's your chance to go as off topic as you like. Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat amongst yourselves.

Hawaii is facing chaos due to the eruption of mount Kilauea with lava, acid raid, vog and "laze" (a type of cloud containing aciod and glass particles. Any community members from that neck of the woods, please stay safe.

The Republic Ireland is going to the polls for a vote on repealing their law which effectively bans abortion outrught.

And also in Catholic news, an Australian Archbishop has become the highest ranking member of the clergy to be convicted of covering up historic child abuse.

In the US, a couple of high profile incidents involving in one case a lawyer, and another Border Patrol officers, over challenging people.. simply because they were speaking Spanish.

Doctors have managed to explain how Michael Jackson was able to do some of his moves in Smooth Criminal

The Supreme Court in the US has ruled in a 5-4 judgment, that employees no longer have the right to sue their employers in a class action suit, instead having to sue individually, because yeah, what could possibly make life easier for the individual than having to face down corporate lawyers 1 on 1?

Britain had a Royal Wedding which drew some attention.

Cartoon Network released a trailer for it's forthcoming "Thundercats Roar!". The internet was... not kind in it's reaction, but who knows how it will play (I'd still much rather have a season 2 of the 2011 reboot, but I'm an old fart)

Netflix released the first image from it's forthcoming She-Ra reboot. The internet will probably wait for more of a trailer to decide on what they think of it.

Netflix in the UK is also showing "Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas", which is the first time any Saint Seiya animation has been broadcast in Britain, a mere 32 after the franchise launched. Better late than never.

"Write this down someplace: White People Don’t Buy Black Comics. Don’t clutch your chest. Sure, there are exceptions to that rule, but in the history of modern comic books, black characters have never, ever, sold as well as white characters. A series being branded a 'black' book is (or, at least was) the kiss of death. I never expected The Crew to do well in comic shops through Diamond. I expected Marvel Marketing to get off their butts and at least make a phone call or two. I had spoken to a number of people anxious to see this book and to explore ways to co-op it; perhaps an in-pack with XXL or Vibe. I put together a CD of original rap and hip-hop from local artists. There’s tons of the stuff, free, these guys were excited about being part of a Marvel Comic. Thousands of barber shops across the country are where minority kids go every other week: why isn’t there a comics rack in there? Why has both DC and Marvel marketing completely ignored the minority market for seventy-five years?" - Christopher Priest

"This story was the first hand grenade thrown by what you might call the British sensibility in American comics. [...] Miracleman predates it, but this was the first time a [world]wide audience in modern comics had been shown a character they knew well, and told that everything they knew was wrong. Now, it's a cliché. Then, it was explosive. Structurally, it's untouchable. Perfectly paced, a complete short story, powered by hate and Moore's sudden grasp of the possibility in the 24-page form. As a British writer, he'd been restricted to the 6 to 8-page form before now. It was like seeing a clever piccolo player suddenly get access to an orchestra."
--Warren Ellis, quoted in Magic Words: The Extraordinary Life of Alan Moore

They'd left the aftermath of one Sith to find another.

Back in the Carreras system, leasers of Ania's were looking through her junkyard for her.

They were interrupted by a helmeted figure.

" Where's Ania Solo? "

They didn't know.

" Where is she? "

They made to run.

" Where is Ania Solo? "

The helmeted one insisted. )
