"The starting point for 'Red Team' was, essentially, what if someone tried to be the Punisher for real? I wrote my 'Punisher Max' run in as believable a way as possible, I hope -- but we're still talking about a vigilante who's somehow survived a downright lethal existence for years, often taking down fairly larger than life characters. So I thought, 'What if someone really, genuinely had a go at it?' And cops seemed to me to be the logical starting point: They'd have the motivation, because their job would provide all manner of unimaginable frustrations, and they'd have the expertise and the resources to do the job. Or at least, a highly professional surveillance and strike unit like Red Team would."

New Amazing Spider-Man creative team and direction revealed

The title will come out three times a month with three different writers on board: Zeb “I had the Lizard eat his son” Wells, Kelly Thompson and Saladin Ahmed. (Cody Ziglar and Patrick Gleason are doing the art.) I’m getting flashbacks to Brand New Day and that’s not a good thing. Marvel even admitted afterwards that the rotating creative teams back then wasn’t the best idea so who knows what’s going on.

The big reveal is that Ben Reilly will be replacing Peter Parker. Marvel’s hinting that Peter will be killed off but if that’s the case he’ll be back in time for his next movie. Ben’s status is a bit wonky… he turned evil at the end of He Who Shall Not Be Named’s Scarlet Spider run but he got a reset during Spider-Geddon so I guess we’ll see how he’s doing.
