In the comments to these weekly posts (and only these posts), it's your chance to go as off topic as you like.
Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat among yourselves.
The intent of these posts is to chat and have some fun and, sure, vent a little as required. Reasoned debate is fine, as always, but if you have to ask if something is going over the line, think carefully before posting please.
Normal board rules about conduct and behaviour still apply, of course.
It's been suggested that, if discussing spoilers for recent media events, it might be advisable to consider using
the rot13 method to prevent other members seeing spoilers in passing. The world situation is the world situation. If you're following the news, you know it as much as I do, if you're not, then there are better sources than me.
In the UK, we currently have industrial action and/or strikes by, amongst others, railway workers, dockyard workers, lawyers, rubbish colllectors and post office employees. So... everythings fine... absolutely fine... no problems here.... Sigh!
The James Webb telescope has produced yet more stunning images, this time of Jupiter. Can you IMAGINE the giggling that must be happening amongst astronomers all over the world as they see the results from their shiny new toy? After being thought lost for decades, the original, full, pilot for Saban's Sailor Moon has been found. This video shows the dedication and detective work it took a VERY committed fan to track it down and show it. The pilot itself is a remarkable artefact with the 90's of 90's live action for the civilian identities and then an early CGI transformation and then 2D animation for the Sailor Scout scenes... though NOT the original Japanese animation, but newly shot in a different style. I will defend it for it's much more diverse casting, and the fact that Ami is a wheelchair user, in her civilian identity AND as Sailor Mercury.
The Sandman: Dreamcast is not what I expected, a series of short, guided meditation/mindfulness exercises narrated by Neil Gaiman and characters from the Dreaming to aid relaxation and sleep, Dream, Lucienne, Cain.and Abel (and Goldie) and Desire all show up, but thankfully, the Corinthian is not invited.
The actions of HBO in pulling dozens of series from streaming due to their merger with Discovery has raised a LOT of ire from creators, many of whom found out bout it via twitter along with everyone else. Many of the series were children's shows, like Sesame Street episodes and Infinity Train.
