'Even after the book was number one in sales, I went back and I said, "Well, doesn't that prove something?" And they said, "No, no, G.I. Joe's just a fluke." The thing of it was that I couldn't get them to give me any other work, because they said it's a total fluke and it was just, you know, blah blah blah. So finally, I kept bugging them and they said, "Okay, we're about to cancel Wolverine because the sales are in the toilet," so that's how I got Wolverine and within one year it was the number two selling book. After Wolverine, I said, "Okay, didn't I prove something there?" They said, "Oh no, Wolverine is another fluke." Which is how I got on another book that was almost cancellation which was called The Avengers.' - Larry Hama
